Compensation: £55,000 – £65,000 per annum

 

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our restaurant operations. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and profitable operation of the restaurant while maintaining high standards of food quality, customer service, and safety. The ideal candidate will be a strong, customer-focused leader with a deep understanding of restaurant management principles and a passion for creating a positive and productive team environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Management
  • Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring efficient workflow and smooth service.
  • Maintain and elevate high standards for food quality, presentation, and service.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Quickly resolve operational issues, manage staff schedules, and address any challenges that arise.
  1. Team Leadership & Staff Development
  • Recruit, train, and supervise both front- and back-of-house staff, fostering a positive, productive team culture.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to enhance employee skills, morale, and job satisfaction.
  • Motivate the team to meet sales targets, deliver exceptional customer service, and achieve operational excellence.
  1. Customer Service & Satisfaction
  • Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service and addressing any customer complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance the guest experience.
  • Ensure a welcoming, clean, and inviting environment for all guests.
  1. Financial Management
  • Monitor budgets and control costs, including labor, food, and inventory expenses.
  • Track sales, analyze financial reports, and develop strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth, such as promotional campaigns or menu adjustments.
  1. Inventory & Vendor Management
  • Manage inventory levels, place orders, and coordinate with vendors to ensure quality and availability of supplies.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks, minimize waste, and control costs through efficient purchasing.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms for ingredients and supplies.
  1. Marketing & Sales Promotion
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to design and implement promotional campaigns, special events, and social media engagement.
  • Develop strategies to attract new customers and retain loyal ones, including loyalty programs and seasonal promotions.
  • Represent the restaurant in the local community to build brand awareness and attract business.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, food and beverage standards, and local health regulations.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and efficiently manage time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage staff and customer relations.
  • Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Familiarity with POS systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
